About INÉ Skin Nutrient Bars

Will the Skin Nutrient Bar dry out my skin?

Unlike mass produced soap that are made with synthetic detergents, INÉ's Skin Nutrient Bars are specially formulated with botanical oils that give you a gentle cleanse without stripping your natural skin moisture or skin barrier.

Is INÉ suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes. Our soaps are formulated with ingredients that are gentle on all skin types, including sensitive skin. Even more, the active ingredients boost skin health and its natural defense barrier, which over time can boost resilience against sensitivity and irritants. That said, as with any new products you introduce to your skin, it's still a good idea to do a patch test first.

What is the shelf life of INÉ Nourishing Bar?

INÉ Skin Nutrient Bars are made in small batches and delivered fresh to your doorstep. As they contain no synthetic preservatives, we recommend using them within six months to take full advantage of the freshness of the ingredients.

How long does each soap last with regular use?

We expect each INÉ Skin Nutrient Bar to last between 1.5-2 months for one adult (check out the INÉ Double Promise below). If you're using INÉ for just your face, it could last over 3 months.

Where are INÉ Skin Nutrient Bars made?

Our soaps are handcrafted and made fresh in small batches every month in a small studio in Japan.

Does Sake Kasu contain alcohol and will it irritate my skin?

Since Sake Kasu is the pressed pulp of Sake (rice wine), it can be expected to contain trace amounts of alcohol. However, when the Saku Kasu is incorporated into the Skin Nutrient Bar, the bar goes through a curing process of several weeks. During this time, any remaining alcohol in the Sake Kasu evaporates.

Why are INÉ Skin Nutrient Bars not stripping like Dove soap?

Soapmaking naturally produces glycerin, a valuable humectant that provides moisture. In handcraft soap, glycerin is kept in the soap. That's why handcraft soap doesn't leave your skin feeling dry and doesn't strip your natural skin barrier.

Contrastly, the "soap" bars sold by Irish Spring and Dove undergo a process where glycerin is taken out of the soap, leaving you with nothing more than a detergent bar. Why? Because glycerin is valuable. These companies reallocate the glycerin into their moisturizers, lotions to have yet another product to sell you.
